Quick Answer
To join a photo and signature into one image, add both to the Prompt Minds Photo + Signature Joiner, choose vertical (photo on top) or side by side, set the width, optionally type your name and date, enter the KB limit from your form and click Download. You get one JPG ready to upload — free, and your images never leave your device.
What is a Photo and Signature Joiner?
A Photo + Signature Joiner (फोटो और सिग्नेचर जोड़ने वाला टूल) combines your passport-style photograph and your signature into a single image. Some online application forms provide one upload slot for both, or ask candidates to submit the photo with the signature below it, sometimes with the name and date written under the photo. Doing this in a photo editor means creating a canvas, aligning two images, adding text and then compressing the result — a lot of work for something that should take a minute.
This tool does the whole job automatically. Add the two images, choose whether the signature goes below or beside the photo, set the size, and the combined image updates instantly in the preview. It keeps everything properly proportioned, can add your name and date, and finally fits the file under the KB limit your form specifies.
The images are combined on a canvas inside your browser, so neither your photo nor your signature is uploaded anywhere.
Key Features
- Two layouts: photo on top with signature below, or photo on the left with signature on the right.
- Exact size control: set the width (vertical) or height (side by side) from 100 to 1,600 pixels.
- Adjustable gap: 0 to 80 pixels of space between the photo and signature.
- Name and date: optional text under the photo in a clear, dark font.
- Proportional scaling: nothing is stretched; long signatures stay readable.
- Thin borders: neat outlines around each part and the whole image, or none.
- Max and min KB: fit under the upload limit and reach a minimum size if required.
- Swap images: fix a mix-up with one click.
- Live preview with the exact pixel size and file size.
- Private: no upload, no account, no watermark.
How to Join a Photo and Signature — Step by Step
- Prepare the photo. Ideally crop it to passport size with our Passport Photo Maker.
- Prepare the signature. Clean it with our Signature Resizer so the background is pure white.
- Add both images to the two upload boxes.
- Choose the layout — vertical is the usual choice.
- Set the width or height and the gap. For a typical form, 300 px wide with a 10 px gap works well.
- Add name and date if your form asks for them.
- Enter the max and min KB and click Download Combined Image.
How the Layout Is Calculated
In the vertical layout, the photo is scaled to the full width you choose, keeping its proportions. If you add a name or date, a white text band is added under the photo with a font size of about one fifteenth of the width. The signature is scaled to fit the same width, but its height is limited to 45% of the width so a tall signature does not overpower the photo; it is centred horizontally. The total height is the photo plus the text band, the gap and the signature.
In the side-by-side layout, the photo is scaled to the height you choose and the signature is scaled to 60% of that height, centred vertically on the right. The text band, if used, runs under the photo across the bottom. In both layouts the background is white, which is what forms expect.
Fitting the Combined Image to Your KB Limit
The tool encodes the image as a JPG and searches for the highest quality that keeps the file under your maximum, counted as 1,000 bytes per KB so it passes portals that use 1,000 or 1,024. If the image cannot fit even at the lowest quality, the note tells you to reduce the size or increase the limit — the tool never secretly shrinks your image.
If your form also has a minimum, the tool adds invisible padding (a JPEG comment segment) until the file reaches it. The pixels do not change and the file remains a normal JPG.
Preparing Your Photo and Signature First
The joiner places your images exactly as they are, so a little preparation gives a much better result. Run through this checklist before combining them:
- Photo: front-facing, recent, sharp, against a plain light background, cropped so the face fills most of the frame. Our Passport Photo Maker crops it to 35 × 45 mm in a minute.
- Signature: signed on plain white paper with a dark pen, photographed from above, then cleaned and trimmed with our Signature Resizer so the paper is pure white.
- Orientation: both images upright. Rotate them before adding if your phone saved them sideways.
- Details: the exact name spelling and date format your form asks for, such as DD/MM/YYYY.
- Limits: the final pixel size and KB range from the official notification.
With clean inputs, the combined image looks like it was made in a studio, and the file size stays small because large white areas compress very efficiently.
Printing the Combined Image
If you need a paper copy, open the downloaded JPG and print it on photo paper or good-quality office paper. Unlike the Passport Photo Maker, this image does not contain a fixed print size, so set the size in your print dialog — for example, scale it so the photo part measures 3.5 cm wide. Print at "Best" quality, check the result with a ruler, and keep the digital file so you can print again later.
Why Choose the Prompt Minds Photo + Signature Joiner?
Generic collage makers are not designed for forms: they add decorative borders, watermarks or fixed grids and ignore file size limits. This tool is focused on one job — producing a clean, white, correctly proportioned photo-and-signature image that passes upload checks.
It works instantly in your browser, shows you the exact dimensions and file size, and keeps your identity documents private. Together with our Passport Photo Maker and Signature Resizer, it covers every image requirement of a typical application form without installing anything.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using an uncropped selfie. Crop the photo to passport style first so the face is the focus.
- A grey signature background. Clean the signature first; grey paper looks untidy next to a white photo.
- Wrong layout. Read the instructions — some forms want the signature beside, not below, the photo.
- Writing the wrong date. Some forms want the date the photo was taken; check what is asked.
- Too small a width. Below about 200 px, the text and signature can become hard to read.
- Not checking the final size. Always look at the KB shown in the note before uploading.
Browser Support and Limits
The tool works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Samsung Internet on phones and computers. Each image can be up to 25 MB in JPG, PNG or WebP format. The output is a JPG with a white background; the name field accepts up to 40 characters and the date up to 20. The text uses a standard Arial/Helvetica font for clear printing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do some forms need the photo and signature in one image?
Some application portals have a single upload slot for both, or ask for a combined image to reduce mismatched uploads. This tool creates that single JPG in the layout you choose. Always follow the layout described in your form's instructions.
Which layout should I choose?
Choose vertical (photo on top, signature below) unless your form says otherwise — it is the most common arrangement. Side by side is useful when the form asks for a wide image or a specific width-to-height ratio.
How do I add my name and date to the photo?
Type them in the Name and Date boxes. They appear in a white band directly under the photo in a clear, dark font. Leave both empty if your form does not ask for them.
How do I keep the combined image under 50 KB?
Enter 50 in Max size (it is the default). The tool finds the highest JPG quality that fits under 50 KB at your chosen pixel size. If it cannot fit even at the lowest quality, it tells you so — then reduce the width or raise the limit.
What if my form needs a minimum file size?
Enter it in Min size. If the image is smaller, the tool adds invisible padding (a JPEG comment) until the file reaches the minimum. The picture does not change.
Will my signature be stretched?
No. The signature is scaled to fit inside its area while keeping its proportions. In vertical layout it uses the full width but no more than 45% of the width in height, so long signatures stay readable and tall ones do not dominate.
Can I swap the photo and signature if I added them in the wrong boxes?
Yes. Click Swap Images and the two images change places instantly.
Should I clean my signature first?
For the best result, yes. Use our Signature Resizer to turn the paper pure white and trim empty space, then add the cleaned signature here. A grey phone photo of paper will look grey in the combined image too.
Are my photo and signature uploaded?
No. Both images are combined inside your browser using the canvas feature. They never leave your device.
What does the border option do?
Thin border draws a fine dark line around the photo, around the signature and around the whole image, which looks neat when printed. Choose No border for a plain white layout.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. It works in modern mobile browsers. Add the photo and signature from your gallery, adjust the settings and download the combined JPG to your phone.
Is the Photo + Signature Joiner free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no usage limit.
