Quick Answer

Drop your TIFF files into the box, arrange their order with the arrow buttons, choose the page size and press Create PDF. Every page of every TIFF — including multi-page scans and faxes — becomes a page in one PDF, sized according to the DPI stored in the scan so A4 stays A4. You can also make one PDF per TIFF. Everything happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Why Convert TIFF to PDF?

Scanners, multifunction printers and fax systems love TIFF. It is lossless, it can hold many pages in one file, and it has been the standard for document imaging for decades. But when you need to send those pages to a person, TIFF is a poor choice: phones and browsers usually can't open it, many viewers show only the first page, and recipients don't know what to do with a .tif attachment. PDF, on the other hand, opens everywhere, shows the page count clearly, and is accepted by virtually every email system, portal and office.

This TIFF to PDF converter (TIFF से PDF) takes single or multi-page TIFF files — including black-and-white fax TIFFs and colour scans — and turns every page into a PDF page. You can merge many TIFFs into one document or create one PDF per file. It all happens in your browser, so confidential scans never leave your computer.

How to Use It

  1. Drop your TIFF files (up to 30) into the box, or tap to choose them.
  2. Check the order: files are listed with numbers; use the ↑ button to move a file up, and ✕ to remove it. Pages inside each TIFF keep their original order.
  3. Choose the page size: "Same as image size" keeps each scan's real paper size; A4 or US Letter places every page on a standard sheet.
  4. Choose the output: one PDF with every page, or one PDF per TIFF (delivered as a ZIP).
  5. Press Create PDF. Progress is shown as each file is read, and the PDF downloads automatically.

True Paper Size from DPI

A TIFF scan stores not just pixels but its resolution — 200, 300 or 600 DPI, for example. With "Same as image size", the converter uses that number to compute the physical page size. A 2480 × 3508 pixel scan at 300 DPI is exactly 8.27 × 11.69 inches, which is A4, so the PDF page is A4 too. That means the PDF prints at the right size and looks correct next to other documents. Converters that ignore DPI often produce giant pages (a 300 DPI scan treated as 72 DPI becomes more than four times too large) or tiny ones.

If a TIFF has no DPI information — common for screenshots or images from design software — the converter assumes 96 DPI. If that gives an odd size, choose A4 or US Letter: each image is then scaled to fit a standard page with an 18-point (quarter-inch) margin, and wide images are placed on landscape pages automatically.

Multi-Page TIFFs and Merging Files

Document feeders often save a whole bundle — a 20-page contract, a set of invoices, a medical file — as one multi-page TIFF. Many image viewers only display page one, which is why people think the other pages are lost. This converter reads every page and adds them to the PDF in order. Reduced-resolution preview copies that some scanners store alongside the real pages are recognised and skipped, so you don't get duplicate thumbnails.

You can also merge several TIFF files: for example, the front and back of an ID card scanned separately, or monthly statements saved as individual files. Add them all, arrange the order and keep "One PDF with every page". Already have some pages as PDFs? Combine the result with them using Merge PDF.

Fax TIFFs

Fax servers and e-fax services commonly deliver documents as black-and-white TIFFs compressed with CCITT Group 3 or Group 4 — a very efficient format for text pages that many modern apps can't open. The converter decodes these fax TIFFs and turns them into normal PDF pages that anyone can read on a phone or print. Standard-mode faxes use different horizontal and vertical resolutions (about 204 × 98 DPI), which makes pages look squashed in many viewers. The converter reads both values and stretches each page back to its correct proportions, so the text looks normal and the page comes out at its real size.

Image Quality in the PDF

Each page is embedded as an image. Pages without transparency are stored as high-quality JPG (92%), which looks identical to the scan on screen and in print while keeping the PDF a manageable size — an uncompressed colour A4 scan would otherwise add about 26 MB per page. Pages with transparent areas are embedded losslessly as PNG so nothing is lost. If you need an even smaller file for email, run the finished PDF through our Compress PDF tool.

Getting the Text from Your Scans

A converted scan is a picture of text, so you can't search or copy words in it. To get the words as editable text, use TIFF to Text on the original TIFF, or OCR PDF on the finished PDF — both recognise English, Hindi and other Indian languages and give you text you can copy into any document.

Common Uses

  • Office scanning: turn scanner output into PDFs for email, WhatsApp and cloud storage.
  • Government and bank submissions: portals usually ask for PDF, not TIFF.
  • Legal and property papers: combine multi-page deed or agreement scans into one PDF.
  • Medical records: convert reports and X-ray film scans saved as TIFF by clinics.
  • Fax inboxes: make received faxes readable on any device.
  • Archives: create access copies of TIFF master scans for researchers and family.

Worked Example

You scanned a 6-page property agreement on an office scanner, which saved it as agreement.tif (multi-page, 300 DPI, colour), and separately scanned the stamp-paper page as stamp.tif. The lawyer wants a single PDF with the stamp paper first. Drop both files, press ↑ on stamp.tif to move it to the top, keep "Same as image size" and "One PDF with every page", then press Create PDF. You get a 7-page PDF: stamp paper first, then the six agreement pages, each at true A4 size — ready to email or upload.

Supported TIFF Types

  • Compressions: uncompressed, LZW, Deflate/ZIP, PackBits, CCITT Group 3 and Group 4 fax, and JPEG-in-TIFF.
  • Colour: RGB, RGBA (transparency), greyscale, black-and-white, palette and CMYK (converted to screen colours).
  • Pages: single-page and multi-page TIFFs; reduced-resolution previews skipped.
  • Limits: 30 files per PDF, 200 MB per file, about 40 megapixels per page.

Privacy

Scanned documents are often the most sensitive files people own — identity cards, agreements, bank statements, medical reports. Unlike most online converters, this tool never uploads them. The TIFF is decoded by the open-source UTIF.js library and the PDF is assembled with pdf-lib, both running in your browser tab. Nothing is stored, and closing the tab clears everything.

Troubleshooting

  • "Not a valid TIFF file": the file may be damaged, incomplete or not really a TIFF.
  • Pages look huge or tiny: the TIFF's DPI is missing or wrong — choose A4 or US Letter instead.
  • The PDF is large: high-resolution colour scans make big PDFs; compress it afterwards with Compress PDF.
  • Wrong order: use the ↑ buttons before pressing Create PDF.
  • "Too large to process": a page exceeds about 40 megapixels; reduce its resolution first.

Tips for Clean PDFs

  • Scan at 300 DPI for documents you may print or OCR later; 200 DPI is usually enough for documents that will only be read on screen.
  • Keep page order in mind before scanning separate sheets, then fine-tune with the ↑ buttons.
  • Use per-file mode when each TIFF is a separate document, such as one invoice per file, so every PDF can be filed or emailed on its own.

Works on Any Device

Use it in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or iPhone — no app or account needed. Big batches of high-resolution scans are quicker on a computer.

Quick Glossary

  • Multi-page TIFF: one TIFF file containing several scanned pages.
  • DPI: dots per inch — used here to calculate the real page size.
  • CCITT Group 4: the compression used for black-and-white fax and document scans.
  • OCR: optical character recognition, which turns pictures of text into real text.

Why Use This Converter?

It reads every page, keeps scans at their real size, merges files in the order you choose, handles fax TIFFs and never uploads your documents — free. Related tools: PDF to TIFF, TIFF to JPG and JPG to PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert TIFF to PDF?

Drop the TIFF files into the box, arrange the order, choose a page size and press Create PDF. The PDF downloads straight away.

Does it convert every page of a multi-page TIFF?

Yes. Every page in each TIFF becomes a page in the PDF, in order.

Can I combine several TIFF files into one PDF?

Yes. Add them all, put them in the right order with the up arrows, keep 'One PDF with every page' and press Create PDF.

Will my A4 scan stay A4 in the PDF?

Yes, with 'Same as image size'. The page size is calculated from the DPI stored in the TIFF, so a 300 DPI A4 scan becomes an A4 PDF page.

What does the A4 / Letter option do?

It places each image on a standard A4 or US Letter page, scaled to fit with a small margin and rotated to landscape for wide images.

Can it open fax TIFF files?

Yes. Black-and-white CCITT Group 3 and Group 4 fax TIFFs are supported, as well as colour, greyscale and CMYK TIFFs.

Is the quality reduced?

Opaque pages are embedded as high-quality JPG (92%), which looks the same as the original for scans while keeping the PDF compact. Pages with transparency are embedded losslessly as PNG.

Can I get one PDF per TIFF?

Yes. Choose 'One PDF per TIFF (ZIP)' and you'll download a ZIP with a PDF for each file.

Is the text in the PDF searchable?

No — scans are images of text. To get the words as copyable text, use our TIFF to Text tool on the TIFF, or OCR PDF on the finished PDF.

How many files can I add?

Up to 30 TIFF files of up to 200 MB each.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Decoding and PDF creation happen entirely in your browser.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up and no watermark.
